About

Qanun artist. Live stage performer. Arranger and producer. Additionally, a university lecturer, choir conductor, and expert in special education.

I began my musical journey in 1992 with the study of the oud at a music association. Within a few years, due to my growing interest in the qanun, I continued my education in the qanun alongside the oud. At the same music association, I took courses in Turkish Music Theory, solfege, and repertoire. Since 1998, I have been working professionally as a qanun artist on various stages, concerts, and projects.

In 2006, I was admitted to the Haliç University Conservatory and graduated in 2010. During my school years, I took courses in Repertoire and Turkish Music Theory, Classical Style Qanun technique, Taksim and Maqam transitions, Western Music and Harmony, Turkish Folk Music, and Folk Music Repertoire. At the conservatory, I enhanced my skills by taking piano lessons, increasing the number of instruments I could play. I gained extensive concert experience through various music schools, choir projects, concerts, associations, and numerous television channels. I performed as a ‘Qanun artist’ at music festivals around the world, including Lebanon, Egypt, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, France, and Belgium, where musicians from every corner of the globe were invited. I am still actively invited to concerts and events in these countries.

At the invitation of the Embassy of Ghana in Turkey, I performed a solo qanun concert at a reception for consuls from thirty African countries. The songs for the theater play 'Fehim Paşa,' for which I served as the Music Director, were composed by me and adapted into a musical. The play was staged forty-five times, and I conducted the orchestra. I also appeared as a qanun artist in the Spanish-produced documentary titled 'Navigam Project,' which is themed around Istanbul and music.

I have accompanied many advertisements, TV series, and film music with my qanun and oud. I am actively continuing my work as a qanun artist in both stage and studio sessions.

In 2017, I began choral projects under my own name, for which I served as the conductor. With my choir, I conducted various project concerts. Alongside my choir concerts, I also performed solo with my qanun and held several solo performances and concerts.

I have released an educational set titled 'Fundamental Qanun Training.' The entire training is presented in the form of a visual and audio book. I am currently serving as a lecturer at Nişantaşı University Conservatory, where I teach Qanun, Oud, and Turkish Music Maqam courses.

I provide services at my studio and production company in Üsküdar, Istanbul.
